May 9, 2018, 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM @ DeKalb Public Library, Bilder Family Meeting Room
This is the monthly meeting of the DeKalb Public Library Board of Trustees, conducting the business of the library. Open to the public.
X-filers, Goth, conspiracy-theorists, and horror-fans, the truth is out there. In anticipation of Slender Man (2018) movie release later this month, we will delight in the dark tales and freaky mysteries surrounding some of our scariest urban legends. High school student, Eden Chasteen, will speak eerily on Slender Man sightings and lore. Teen librarian, Susan Garlisch, will spook you with The Mothman Prophecies, a 2002 movie based on actual events in Point Pleasant, West Virginia. Urban legends will also include the unearthly Men in Black, and Resurrection Mary, a ghostly bride who haunts Hillside, Illinois’ Queen of Heaven Cemetery. Your family ghost stories are welcome during our “unwholesome” snack time. Lastly, may we entice you to join a creepy game to find the clues Slender Man has left us. This program is intended for ages 11-18. No registration required. For additional information, please contact Susan at firstname.lastname@example.org or at (815) 756-9568 ext. 3400.
