  1. Mighty Makers: Squishy Circuits

    March 26, 2018, 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ DeKalb Public Library, Story & Activity Room

    Learn about electricity using play dough! Using conductive and insulating play doughs, build your own creation. Make a circuit or create a more complicated sculpture, such as an animal. Then use LED lights and a battery pack to light it up. Squishy Circuits are a fun, hands-on way to learn the basics of circuits. No experience with circuits needed. This program is FREE and intended for children. No registration is required, but there is a limit of 20 participants, so come early to secure a spot.     Math Facts! Practice basic addition/subtraction and multiplication/division with this short, fun class. Think your kid’s not ready to multiply yet?   3. Fifth Grader Teen Room Tour

    March 26, 2018, 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM @ DeKalb Public Library, Teen Room

    Our Teen Room is for tweens and teens who are in middle school and high school. Fifth graders and their families can get a preview of the collection and activities we have available during this one hour program. Drop-in anytime between 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. Teen team staff members and Volunteens (our teen volunteers) will be on hand to show you around and answer any of your questions. Snacks will be provided, sponsored by the Friends of DeKalb Public Library. This FREE program is for fifth-grade students and their families. Registration is not required.   6. Maker Mondays: 3D Design a Stamp

    March 26, 2018, 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM @ DeKalb Public Library, Nancy D. Castle Collaboration Studio

    Using TinkerCAD and InkScape, we’ll learn how to take 2D line art and convert it into a 3D object in order to make your very own stamp! After the class, we’ll print your stamp out for you on our 3D printers to be picked up in a couple of days. This class and the accompanying 3D print is completely free. We do ask that participants be at least 8 years old, and have basic computer skills. No experience with 3D design or printing is required. Sign up begins 15 minutes before class in the Nancy D.
