  1. Homeschool Happenings: Music Day

    March 12, 2018, 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM @ DeKalb Public Library, Story & Activity Room

    Join us for Homeschool Happening's Music Day, where you can receive a few structured lessons on different instruments and music styles as well as spend some open exploration time with various instruments. Bring your child(ren)'s recorder for some basic instruction, if you’d like. We’ll also make some toy instruments to take home. This program is designed for kids ages 8-9 and younger. Older siblings are also welcome! Everyone is invited to attend and discover what homeschooling is all about. No registration is required to attend this FREE program!   2. Creative Relationships 101

    Relationships, like art, are creative! No two relationships are the same, but by practicing good communication, boundaries, and consent we can bring more health and happiness to every unique relationship. Creative Relationships 101 is a series of 4 workshops that will use conversation, games, and art-making to help us explore, understand, and improve connections with friends, family, crushes, classmates, and boos. Workshops are Healthy Relationships, Boundaries and Communication, Consent, and Creative Relationships Wrap Up. This week we will be discussing boundaries and communication. Discover what you want from your relationships, build skills for effective communication, understand boundaries and how to set and respect them. This FREE program is intended for tweens in grades 6-8. Registration is not required. Folks will not be admitted into workshops more than 10 minutes after the start time.

  7. Maker Mondays: 3D Design a Lucky Four Leaf Clover

    No more hunting in the clover patches to find yourself a lucky four-leaf clover! We’ll use TinkerCAD and our 3D printers to create your own lucky clover! After the class, we’ll print your clover out for you on our 3D printers to be picked up in a couple of days! This class and the accompanying 3D print is completely free! We do ask that participants be at least 8 years old, and have basic computer skills. No experience with 3D design or printing is required. Sign up begins 15 minutes before class in the Nancy D.
