October 9, 2018, 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM @ DeKalb Public Library, Bilder Family Meeting Room
This month we will be discussing Saturn Run by John Sandford and Ctein. In 2066, a Caltech intern notices an anomaly from a space telescope—something is approaching Saturn, and decelerating. Space objects don’t decelerate. Spaceships do… A flurry of top-level government meetings produce the inescapable conclusion: Whatever built the ship is at least one hundred years ahead of our technology, and whoever can get their hands on it will have an advantage so large, no other nation can compete. This book group focuses on the strange, the weird, and the uncanny–stories that seem a bit askew, and look at the world from unusual perspectives. We invite you to leave your usual books behind and dare to read differently. Wander with us … Off the Beaten Path. Refreshments are provided. This group is intended for adults. For more information, please contact Kristine at firstname.lastname@example.org or (815) 756-9568 ext. 2111.
