    Teens and tweens are invited to join the Video Gaming Club run by the Gaming Goat. Try new or retro games each week. There will be tournaments and gift card prizes! No registration is required to attend this FREE club. It is intended for teens and tweens in grades 6-12.   3. Teacher in the Library

    If you have a student needing help, refer them to Teacher in the Library! In this program, FREE homework help will be available at the library for District #428 students in grades 1-8! The program coordinator will maintain contact with the child’s teacher, and a card will be attached to work completed with Teacher in the Library.     Join the Pokémon League! Everyone is welcome to attend this program, run by the Gaming Goat, where you can learn how to play Pokémon, and then participate in the game. Just grab your Pokémon cards and visit the library. You ‘gotta catch them all!’ This program is FREE and requires no registration! It is intended for children ages 6-12.   5. Maker Mondays: Laser Cut a Halloween Sign

    This Maker Monday, learn how to laser cut your very own Halloween sign. We’ll learn how to use Inkscape to create a vector file that will then be used on the Laser cutter to cut your sign at the end of class.   6. Teen STEM Café Focus Group

    NIU’s Teen STEM Café comes to DeKalb Public Library! Join other DeKalb area teens (grades 6-12) to brainstorm special events where science and technology experts from around the state visit the library to talk with teens about their research and experience out in the field. Today, you can pick subjects which you would like to learn about, such as earth and space, chemistry, and experimental engineering. Teen team members gain leadership experience, network with hundreds of other teens and science experts from around the region, learn about potential careers in STEM fields, collaborate in a team environment, and expand their knowledge of cutting-edge science subjects.
