[ARCHIVED] Public Works Prepares for Late Week Snowstorm

The DeKalb Public Works Department is making final preparations for the snowstorm arriving late this week and is encouraging the community to stay safe and help make snow removal as efficient as possible.

While predictions on snowfall totals still vary, a significant snow event beginning Thursday is likely.

The City strongly encourages that vehicles be removed from all City streets before the start of the storm to help facilitate plowing.

Snow routes will likely be put into effect during the storm. At that time, parking will be prohibited on City streets where snow route signs are posted.

High winds and dangerously cold temperatures will make travel hazardous Thursday through Saturday morning. Possible blizzard conditions will greatly reduce visibility. It is recommended that residents make alternate travel plans now and avoid traveling during the storm.
