Fireworks explode as the DeKalb Municipal Band plays in the band shell

The City of DeKalb and DeKalb Park District are excited to host the annual Fourth of July Celebration with an enhanced fireworks show!

Join us in Hopkins Park for this annual tradition along with some new daytime programming. See the full schedule below.

This year's fireworks show spectacular will be different from the normal show. 

It will feature color and pattern scenes, special effects, multi-layer effects including shooting comets and a glittering chandelier ending, Made in USA fireworks, pastel disco colors, and larger shells for everyone to enjoy from farther away. The fireworks show will be something you won't want to miss, so don't forget to bring your friends, family, and cameras because this is going to be an event to remember!

Fourth of July Events

Independence Day 5K/10K – 8:00 a.m. 
Food Vendors – 2:00-9:00 p.m.
Relay Races, Games, Activities, and Strolling Entertainment — 2:00-6:00 p.m.
Animal and Reptile Show – 2:00-3:15 p.m.
Glowstick Sales (Cash Only!) – 2:00 p.m.-sunset 
Final Say (Live Music) – 3:30-5:30 p.m.
DeKalb Municipal Band Concert – Starts at 7:30 p.m. 
Fireworks – Approximately 30 minutes after sunset
