Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, Lakeshore Recycling Services (LRS) has seen a 10% to 30% increase in curbside pickup (refuse, recyclables, and yard waste), as many residents are working from home and children are being homeschooled. Due to this increase, LRS will be fortifying their residential routes and making the following changes to the City of DeKalb residential refuse services:
- LRS will be adding extra drivers and support. As a result, residents may experience an earlier or later pick up time than they are accustomed to. To ensure collection, residents should place materials at the curb before 6:00 a.m. on the scheduled date of service.
- LRS has suspended the collection of bulk items, appliances, and e-waste for safety reasons. Also, the DC (Cortland) location is not accepting e-waste at this time.
