The winter season is upon us again. Please review the following bullet points for the snow removal season to help us serve you and keep you flying over the winter months.
vPlease call the Airport Manager – Tom Cleveland at 815-748-8102, 815-739-3100 (cell), or Chuck Lanning at 815-739-0728 if you need to access your hangar during or directly after the snow storm. Please let us know if you are going on a flight; we will plow a path for you to get you to and from the runway.
vPlease turn your aircraft taxi light on at all times when taxiing on DeKalb Airport when snow removal operations are taking place. This will help the snow plow drivers see and avoid you.
vAll snow removal equipment is equipped with aircraft radios. If you need to contact us while in your aircraft, please do so on the Unicom frequency, 122.7.
vAfter the storm is over, we will plow your hangar door out if you are present to open your hangar door and guide us by the nose of your aircraft. Please contact us on the numbers above.
vIf you cannot reach any of us, please contact the FBO, DeKalb Flight Center, at 815-758-3521(758-DKB1) and they will track us down.
vRunway closures will be NOTAM’d, on the AWOS frequency (119.75) and also on the AWOS phone message recording. (815-748-2350)
