Our forestry crew maintains thousands of trees on parkways and other public lands within the City limits. Call us for assistance with any tree in the public right-of-way.

Leaf Pick Up

City crews collect raked leaves from the parkways seasonally, from mid October through November. Watch for seasonal press releases regarding scheduled collections during this time.

Emerald Ash Borer

The Emerald Ash Borer is in DeKalb County.  Contact us for the status of your ash tree in the parkway.  More information is available at Illinois Department of Agriculture .

Tree City USA

The City of DeKalb has been recognized annually as a Tree City USA, since 1998.

Tree Planting Application


The City of DeKalb requires a Tree Planting Application before planting a tree in the parkway.  The Tree Planting Application for the City of DeKalb can be found here.

Wires in trees can be extremely dangerous.  Contact Commonwealth Edison at Com Ed for questions regarding tree branches in power lines.
