Voluntary Camera Registration Program
The program allows residents and business owners to register the location of their video surveillance system with the department. When a crime occurs, members of the department will be able to quickly identify the locations of nearby cameras and enlist the assistance of the community to help officers and investigators collect video evidence and follow up on leads. It also will allow the department the ability to directly contact members of the program that are using video surveillance in an area in which a crime occurred. This registration is voluntary and there is no cost associated with registration. Registering your camera does not provide the department with direct access to the cameras and users may request to removed at any time. Police may ask program members to check their video footage for a specific date and time that may show activity involved with a crime.
