Citizens wishing to
obtain a copy of a police report may do so in person or
by mail. The following are options on how to obtain a
police report.

- ACCIDENT
REPORTS are $5 each. Accident
Reconstruction diagrams are $10. Payment is due prior
to receiving report.

- VANDALISM,
THEFT, CRIMINAL DAMAGE reports are $2 each.
A listing of what was either damaged or stolen is
typed on a form letter. Payment is due prior to
receiving the letter.

- FREEDOM OF
INFORMATION.
A Freedom of Information (FOIA) request must be
filled out and submitted to the Keeper of Records.
All requests are reviewed and will follow the
Freedom of Information Act. FOIA requests may take
up to 7 days to process. A fee of 50˘ per 8.5x11
page or actual cost of other reproduction may be
charged. If records are to be mailed, requester
will be responsible for postage costs. Applicable
fees must be paid to the City of DeKalb at the time
of picking up documents or prior to documents being
mailed.

- SUBPOENA.
Persons requesting a full copy of a report must
subpoena the records. Subpoena requests may take up
to 7 days to process.
Charges are as follows:
-Subpoena - $20.00*
-Individual Photos - $5.00 each
-Digital Photo Page - $10.00 -Digital Photos on
CD - $15
-Digital Photos of Case Investigations - $20.00
-Video tapes - $20.00 each -DVDs - $20 *Records subpoenaed over a reasonable amount
could result in a higher charge.

- ELECTRONIC
FINGERPRINTING/CRIMINAL
HISTORY. Persons required to be
fingerprinted for their occupation may come to the
Police Department between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to
4:00 p.m. on Thursdays. Appointments may be
necessary for other weekdays. The charge for
electronic submission is $67.00. It is best that
you call prior to coming to ensure this service is
available at the time of your arrival.
UCIA Livescan Fingerprint submissions are $24.00.
Inked fingerprint submissions are $10 and any
additional cards are $5.
