AUTO BURGLARIES |
Auto burglaries can be very difficult cases to solve
as there is usually very little physical evidence
left behind. In order to help reduce the risk
of becoming a victim of a car burglary, we have
produced some easy tips to follow:
- ALWAYS close
your windows and
lock your vehicle and garage
doors. Most burglary to autos are
of those that are unlocked!
- ALWAYS park in well
lit areas as close to buildings, or if
at home, park in garage.
- ALWAYS use exterior
lighting in areas around your garage or
automobiles.
- ALWAYS remove or hide
from view loose valuables from your
vehicle, including the garage door
opener. (If taken, it is an easy way for
a burglar to gain entry into your home).
This includes purses, wallets, cell
phones, laptop computers, GPS units,
other electronic devices, loose change
and briefcases. Anything of value
- burglars can easily obtain entry into
your car!
- ALWAYS set your car
alarm, if so equipped.
- ALWAYS keep a list of
serial numbers for your commonly used
electronic equipment.
- NEVER leave your keys
in your car.

persons seen wandering around in parking lots or
neighborhoods - particularly after hours - and/or
