City
Manager's
office
is
responsible
for
the
following
duties...
Supervision of all City departments, personnel, and programs; Administration of all Council policies; Preparation and administration of the annual City Budget; Coordination of the city's participation in area mass transit programs including NIU/DeKalb Huskie Bus System and Trans Vac; Issuance of temporary handicap parking permits; Schedule meeting rooms for community/civic organization; Disseminate permits for special events and block parties (click to download application);

Department's
major
goal
is
to
ensure
effective
implementation
of
City
Council
policies
through
efficient
professional
management
of
all
aspects
of
city
government.
The
City
Manager
serves
as
the
city's
chief
administrative
officer
and
in
this
capacity
is
responsible
for
the
administration,
coordination,
and
management
of
all
city
services
and
employees,
as
well
as
maintaining
a
sound
city
financial
condition
through
preparation
and
management
of
DeKalb's
annual
$40
million
budget.
