Building Code Board of Appeals meetings are held as needed.

Overview


The Board of Appeals consists of seven (7) members appointed as follows: one for five years, two for four years, one for three years, two for two years, and one for one year. Thereafter, each new member shall serve for five years with terms expiring on June 30th, or until a successor has been appointed. All members, including alternates shall be appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the City Council, and shall serve without compensation.

Thereafter, each new member shall serve for 5 years with terms expiring on June 30, or until a successor has been appointed. All members, including alternates shall be appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the City Council and shall serve without compensation.

Each member shall be a licensed professional engineer or architect or a builder or superintendent of building construction with at least ten years' experience, five years of which shall have been in responsible charge of work. Not more than three members shall be from the same profession or occupation, and at least one shall represent a fire protection company or the State Fire Marshall's office. The Mayor with the advice and consent of the City Council reserves the right to appoint any other person deemed qualified.
